My dog died due to my VET's mismanaged care and incompetence.
If your little friend starts having problems, I strongly urge
and advise you to get a second
or even a third opinion.
It may save your pets life,  and your heart :-).

I  am including a link to a site called RAINBOW BRIDGE,
where pet owner
can go and  find support and comfort because
of the loss of a pet.  I used to have his complete story posted here,
but decided to take that part down, as it was too upsetting
to think about.
His death was not an easy one that haunts us still.
If you have recently  lost a pet I strongly urge
you to go here..... it may help you.

I have debated about putting the following on Spike's tribute page, since
it's dedicated to him, but he was such a loving and generous dog, I am
sure he won't mind sharing a little bit of his space, with some dogs we
have been privledged to know since his passing.

In March of 2004 we rescued and adopted a little guy who was in dire straights and needed
us badly.  His name is Simon.  He is well, and happy, and healthy now.  Please see
below for a picture of Simon with his friend Isis..
They say he is boxer/cocker, but who knows?  :-)
He is now about 8 years old.

Last August/06 we rescued a pretty big girl boxer named Isis.  She was in desperate
need, was unwell and needed a home badly.  Against all my fears, we adopted her.
She was 7 1/2 years old. We had the privledge of knowing her until March of this year.
Only short 8 months we got to spend with her.  Not nearly enough time to show her how great a
"Dog's life" can be.  But, at least this time, when her time came, she was with us,  and not alone,
we cradled in our arms as she passed in her  new home.  She is missed.  Please see below Spike's
pictures for  our dear Isis. Bless her and all pets.  Please be responsible, when you get a pet, it's
for life!!  Not something to be discarded when things aren't going right. Also....
Spay and Neuter, so there are no unexpected, unwanted litters.  Pets are people too.  :-)

Spike at his first home, before he came to live with us.

Spike's mom, and  some of the clan.

An almost brand new baby Spike.  Right after
we first got him.

One of my favorite pictures of him, this look captures
the essense that was Spike. (note the blade of grass
on his nose, typical of him)

Me and the baby Spike.

Congratulating him for doing his "job"
outside, and for being an all around
good boy!!  He was easily trained!

A young pup under 6 months old.

A young Spike - full of devilment.

Me and Spike ... a few Christmas-times ago.

Jack& Spike
No matter how big he got, he always thought
he was a LAP dog, and that Jack was "his".

Spike and "his" Jack, - also Jack was Spike's favorite pillow.

He enjoyed posing for pictures.

He learned to shake before he was six months old,
and always offered his paw as a gesture of friendship
and welcome.

My son John and Spike-various ages doing their favorite thing
together.  If John was asleep somewhere, Spike wouldn't be
very far away.

He didn't really enjoy this, but tolerated it for one picture...
(Jack's idea).

He always knew which stocking was his, and worried
about it endlessly....until the "pay-day" -- Christmas Day.

They did this alot didn't they?  :-)

The boys of summer.  June 2001 Hatteras
(Spike , Jack, John, and his best friend, Jim)

Spike, tired today....September 2001

And some last images... One of Spike's most favorite
past-times...sitting in the sun AND guarding my flowers.
He especially loved the red ones.

Thank you for visiting Spike, Simon, and Isis.

She was the sweetest girl.... Isis

Buds sharing a view.  Simon misses her.

And of course, Jack with his "buds" doing
the floor thing.... again.  Just now, we're back
again .... to just one.
